Hot Chocolate
Just a quick wintery recipe! My hot chocolate is something I have almost everyday in the winter. It's warming, comforting and possibly might become your best friend in the even colder months to come. Depending on my mood I'll add cinnamon, or ginger, which just take it to the most festive level you can imagine.
I use cacao as oppose to cocoa, which makes it so much more chocolatey and smells incredible, if you're using cocoa, you may need to add a little more, and make it a little sweeter as cocoa is roasted so naturally has a more bitter flavour.
If you want to keep this completely vegan, you can, of course, use maple syrup too, or even stevia if you want to keep it low sugar. I do find, however, that honey or maple syrup just give it the most incredible caramel-y flavour! So delicious that you’ll forget it's actually good for you.
Serves - 1
Ingredients
300 ml almond milk (or any other milk)
1 tbsp raw cacao/cocoa powder
1.5 tbsp honey/maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Method
Place all the ingredients into a pot on a low heat and give them a good wish to make sure they're all combined. Let the mixture simmer until you reach your desired heat, and if you want it frothy just give it a really quick whisk before serving
That's it! Super simple!
Enjoy :)
