Breakfast in Berlin

Breakfast in Berlin

When traveling it can be incredibly challenging to stick to your usual eating habits, so starting the day with a good breakfast (for me) is probably the most important aspect of trying to stay feeling good, full of energy and like my usual self when I'm in new surroundings.

When we got to Berlin I had only one preplanned place in mind for breakfast. I had found Daluma online prior to the trip. It had great reviews and a really tempting menu which I just had to try! I’d highly recommend it if you’re ever in the area! The atmosphere is really warm and cosy and the staff really friendly too. They have quite a variety to choose from, but not so much that you're totally lost and can’t decide on anything. The food is all completely plant based and there are plenty of hot and cold options. We went for the buckwheat porridge, which was so warm and topped with walnuts and bananas. I’ll definitely be recreating this soon! Daluma also had a really cute outside seating area, which was too cold for us at the time, but i’m sure in warmer months it’s a perfect breakfast spot!

BUT- as the unexpected always seems to be what trumps all, our favourite breakfast place soon became Superfoods and Organic Liquids, which we discovered by chance as it was just across the road from Daluma. The name alone made us want to try ii thanks to how amusing we found it, but we were so glad we did! It was amazing. Its was much quieter than the first we had tried, with a very different feel. White, black marble and very simplistic. Upon entering your eyes can feast upon the day’s incredible pastries, all vegan and mostly wheat free, not to mention absolutely delicious. The foods are primarily premade, so easy to take away, but I strongly recommend eating in, as the atmosphere is so calming and relaxing that you’ll forget you still have a whole day ahead of you. From the most incredible bircher mueslis i’ve ever tried to the most delicious sandwiches (Our favourite was the gf 'cream cheese'!). We had to go back two days in a row just to try a few more things. This place was by far our favourite for breakfast, the food, the atmosphere and the service was just perfect, friendly and welcoming. The minimalistic decor, low hanging lamps, marble tabletops and beautiful crockery made it more of a winner for me too, but then again, I do have an affinity towards beautiful, simple things.
